The character for love 愛 is composed of four elements: 爪 (claw), 冖 (cover), 心 (heart), and 夂 (action). Together these provide a concise summary of what love means. The first two represent the hands that protect the heart carefully by providing a cover. The second two represent the action or movement which comes from the heart. Together, they illustrate the meaning behind love: it’s an emotion that comes from the heart and is demonstrated through action.

Understanding behaviour, language and the brain has been her mission since the confusion of childhood. Elaine had the good fortune to train at Reading University in Linguistics and Language Pathology under Professor David Crystal, plus become a licensed Speech and Language Therapist
providing training and formulating individual programmes to enhance the lives of individuals and their families. She delivered 1:1 and group work with adults and children with a variety of challenges and aspirations, and set up self help groups in the statutory and voluntary sectors.
She is committed to conflict resolution and improving communication, trained in Re-Evaluation Counselling, the Alternatives to Violence Project, Family and Marital Systems Therapy, and as a Mediator with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, facilitating meetings between statutory authorities and families.
She was involved in research on new treatments for aphasia at Charing Cross Hospital, London and exploring cognitive decline as a Neuropsychology Research Assistant at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.
Later, she specialised in Auditory Processing and went on to deliver training in The Listening Program from Advanced Brain, Fast For Word from Scientific Learning, and completed certification in Neurolinguistic Programming, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.
Through the work of Tony Robbins, Cloe Madanes , Gabor Mate and Janina Fisher she has developed an understanding of how trauma causes fragmentation of identity, and how each individual can repair , rebuild and move on, despite major challenges. She uses techniques from NLP, and other current models to achieve rapid change, believing everyone is creative, and in the power of language and art to reframe our past and transform our future.
During the Pandemic, she began creating portraits, in response to Sir Tom Croft's initiative to offer NHS workers a portrait in gratitude for their phenomenal contributions. The book is still available and supports NHS Charities Together.
